Why to avoid it: HFCS is strongly linked to obesity, type 2 diabetes, and fatty liver disease. It’s a source of “empty calories” that spikes your blood sugar without providing any nutritional value. Watch out for other artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose, which can disrupt your body’s natural ability to manage calories.
